The first meeting
We did not start with speeches. We started with rice and beans and names written on paper plates. People will fight for a place that has fed them. Power begins with hospitality.

Biography
Rosa spent her life gathering neighbors around tables: food pantries, bilingual clinics, voter drives. She insists that history is not only what happens in capitals, but what happens when someone knocks on a door and stays for coffee. Her voice carries warmth and steel in equal measure.

Turning fury into agendas, phone trees, and change you can touch.
From the recording
We did not start with speeches. We started with rice and beans and names written on paper plates. People will fight for a place that has fed them. Power begins with hospitality.
Anger is useful fuel, but a terrible steering wheel. I learned to turn fury into agendas, agendas into phone trees, phone trees into change you could touch—a clinic open on Saturdays, a bus route restored.
Wisdom
Ask who is missing from the room before you decide what the room needs. Then go get them—and make space when they arrive.
Most victories look like failure until the week they don't. Keep the minutes. Keep showing up.
